The new meeting space/office of the Kenmore Village Improvement Society (KVIS) is half of the property at 7 Warren  Avenue in Kenmore. The other half is the KVIS Made for Good shop. On June 27th people gathered in the meeting  space for book readings by local husband and wife authors, Amy and Shane Lee. Amy read from her book, “Fate and  Resolve”, and Shane read from his book, “Labyrinth;” the room was full and everyone was enthralled as the gifted young  writers spun their tales. Amy Lee is a fantasy romance author of The Centaur Tribe series and Shane Lee is a dark fan tasy author of the World of the Stone Maze series. Copies of these books are available at the Made for Good shop and  include a handmade bookmark specially designed for each book.

KVIS President, Melissa Foster said, “An integral part of our business plan for the Made for Good shop, is that it is an  interactive space. We will be continually having events or all kinds in the meeting space that highlight and feature our  wonderful Artists/Makers and the creations we have for sale in the shop.”

Upcoming events include lemonade and cookies book readings by children’s book authors, painting parties, jewelry mak ing, and more; these will all be lead by the Artists and Makers of the Made for Good shop. Some of the items available  at the shop include pottery, jewelry, knitted and crochet items, stained glass and art glass, bags, paintings, felted items,  books of local interest and by local authors, greeting cards, music boxes, towels, tea, jams, clothing, socks, hats for dogs  and cats, cake toppers, and more. The Made for Good shop offers free gift wrap for sales over ten dollars and is pet  friendly with treats at the counter for dogs.

The KVIS is a group of volunteers celebrating 15 years of serving the community. We strive to help make our neck of  the woods as good as possible in as many ways as needed.
