Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 34-year-old Steven D. Frost of Hamburg was sentenced yesterday evening before West Seneca Town Court Justice Shannon Filbert to 3 years of probation.

Between January 31, 2021 and February 9, 2021, the defendant, while working as a teacher and coach at West Seneca West High School, sent multiple sexually inappropriate messages through the school district’s e-mail to a student. The defendant knowingly acted in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a child. The defendant was terminated from his position.

Frost pleaded guilty, as charged, to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class “A” misdemeanor) on April 5, 2023. As a condition of the plea, the defendant surrendered his New York State Teacher Certification.

Last night, Judge Filbert issued a final order of protection on behalf of the victim, which remains in effect for the next five years.

District Attorney Flynn commends School Resource Officer David Jarczyk for not only his work in this investigation, but the work he does every day for the students of the West Seneca Central School District.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Meredith M. Mohun of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
