LATHAM — Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the state of New York, announces the recent promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

  • Thomas Bland from Lewiston, and assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, received a promotion May 8, 2023 to the rank of chief warrant officer 2.
  • Katelyn Bove from Attica, and assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion May 15, 2023 to the rank of 1st lieutenant.
  • Zachary Daurelio from Rochester, and assigned to the C Troop, 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment, received a promotion May 22, 2023 to the rank of sergeant.
  • Joshua Dunn from Cheektowaga, and assigned to the Company A, 427th Brigade Support Battalion, received a promotion May 23, 2023 to the rank of staff sergeant.
  • George Farley from Lancaster, and assigned to the Company C, Recruiting & Retention Battalion, received a promotion May 26, 2023 to the rank of specialist.
  • Joseph Ledwin from Buffalo, and assigned to the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, received a promotion May 8, 2023 to the rank of captain.
  • Zachary Marafioti from Rochester, and assigned to the B Troop, 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment, received a promotion May 17, 2023 to the rank of staff sergeant.
  • Gregory Mcdonnell from Grand Island, and assigned to the 222nd Military Police Company, received a promotion May 22, 2023 to the rank of first sergeant.
  • Christopher Schwenk from Grand Island, and assigned to the Company C, 152nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, received a promotion May 15, 2023 to the rank of 1st lieutenant.
  • Alexander Sonneville from Webster, and assigned to the A Troop, 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment, received a promotion May 8, 2023 to the rank of staff sergeant.
  • Tadiwanashe Tigere from Amherst, and assigned to the 105th Military Police Company, received a promotion May 26, 2023 to the rank of specialist.
  • Tanner Till from Orchard Park, and assigned to the A Troop, 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment, received a promotion May 17, 2023 to the rank of sergeant.
