On May 3, 2023, The Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of Troop A Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) arrested Brian J. Schueler, 49 of Buffalo, NY for Criminal Possession of Weapon 2nd (1 count- loaded weapon)- C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd ( 5 or more firearms) -C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (4 counts- Assault Weapons) _ D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd ( 9 counts- large capacity magazines)-D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Firearm-E Felony , Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor- A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th – D Felony.
On May 3, 2023, Troop A Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) executed a Child Pornography search warrant on Benzinger Street in the city of Buffalo. The target of the investigation was Brian J. Schueler. Schueler was taken into custody without incident. Schueler was found to possess firearms with a bulletproof vest and suspected narcotics. An amended warrant was obtained, and a search was conducted. Evidence secured from the residence were 14 computer related items, 4 assault rifles, 2 handguns, 9 high-capacity magazines, a bulletproof vest and approximately 1 gram of cocaine.
Schueler was transported to the city of Buffalo Lockup for centralized arraignment.
NYSP Computer Crimes Unit, Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, and Special Investigations Unit assisted in this arrest.
