The Erie County Fair has added three free concert to this year’s lineup: Chubby Checker, The Guess Who and The Spinners.

Chubby Checker will perform on The Buffalo News Grandstand on opening night, Aug. 9. He is an American rock ‘n’ roll singer who “changed the way we dance to the beat, 24/7, since 1959,” a press release stated. “He is the only artist to have five albums in the Top 12 all at once, to have a song be No. 1 twice (‘The Twist’), and to have nine double-sided hits.”

Legendary Canadian band The Guess Who, best known internationally for the album “American Woman,” and top 40 hit singles “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature” and “American Woman,” will perform Aug. 17.

The Spinners, whom the press release called, “one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history” with “a towering legacy spanning over six decades” will be “Working My Way Back To You” on Aug. 18.

Each concert is included with gate admission to the Erie County Fair. No extra ticket is required to get into the shows.

Gate admission for the Erie County Fair will go on sale July 1 at www.ECFair.org.

√ Bailey Zimmerman with special guest Seaforth – Aug. 15

Tickets for all paid shows will go on sale at 9 a.m. June 9 at www.ECFair.org. Tickets purchased prior to the day of the show will include admission to the Erie County Fair on the day of the performance. For members of the Erie County Agricultural Society, tickets will go on sale one day earlier . To become a member, visit https://www.ecfair.org/ecasmembership before May 31.
