Tage Thompson broke a 3-3 tie 6:15 into the third period to give the Buffalo Sabres another win as they try to claw into a Wild Card playoff slot.
With just four games remaining, the Sabres remain four points down against the Florida Panthers and New York Islanders for the playoff positions. Both Florida and New York have just three games remaining.
Casey Mittelstadt scored a pair for the Sabres, his 11th and 12th of the season. Rasmus Dahlin scored his 15th of the year in the win.
The Sabres next take on the Rangers on Monday at 7 p.m.
