BUFFALO — Jeff Skinner scored in overtime to break a 2-2 tie and give the Buffalo Sabres a victory over the New York Rangers.

JJ Peterka and Jordan Greenway also scored for the Sabres, while Devon Levi, who signed with the Sabres just two weeks ago, made 32 saves in his NHL debut.

Buffalo is now 36-31-7 and moved within five points of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. The Sabres have a game in hand.
