The Buffalo Sabres dropped a back-and-forth game to the Montreal Canadiens in a shootout.

Lucas Rousek, JJ Peterka and Riley Stillman scored for the Sabres in the 4-3 loss.

Despite the loss, Buffalo pulled within five points of the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
