The Sabres picked up two points on the road thanks to a pair of third-period goals by Kyle Okposo and Jeff Skinner.

Eric Comrie made 26 saves in the win against the New York Islanders at UBS Arena. It was Comrie’s first shutout of the season and second in the NHL.

With the win, the Sabres remain six points behind the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second wild card slot in the Eastern Conference for the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
