BUFFALO — The Buffalo Sabres lost in overtime, 2-1 against the visiting New York Rangers this afternoon.
The Sabres had a 1-0 lead over the New York Rangers for 3:36 in the second period thanks to a Jeff Skinner goal. Then Patrick Kane tied it up, where it remained through the rest of the second and third periods.
In overtime, Artemi Panarin gave the Rangers the win, dropping Buffalo to 32-28-5, seven points out of the final Wild Card slot.
The Sabres next play against the Maple Leafs in Toronto at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
