In an “open letter” posted to social media, Nate McMurray, who had announced less than a month ago that he would be seeking the seat of the Erie County Executive, said he has decided against running.

McMurray said, “the party machine makes a legitimate primary (from someone like me) nearly impossible.”

He said he will leave his website (nateforerie.com) up to share his vision of what he wants to see in Erie County, but will focus his efforts elsewhere.

Earlier today, Chrissy Casilio-Bluhm announced she would seek the Executive position, running as a Republican.
