Chrissy Casilio-Bluhm’s candidacy for the Erie County Executive has been rumored for days but an announcement this morning, made it official.

Introduced as the candidate of choice from the Erie County Republican Party, Casilio-Bluhm said she’s running because, “I want everyone in Erie County to have a better chance to pursue their dreams, keep their families safe, earn a living and have the best life possible in the community we all love.”

Casilio-Bluhm is a graduate of Clarence High School and the University at Buffalo. She runs a marketing firm called Casilio Communications. Although, daughter of longtime Clarence Town Supervisor Pat Casilio, Casilio-Bluhm has no elective or government experience, herself.

On the Democratic side, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz is seeking re-election and is opposed by former Grand Island Supervisor Nate McMurray for the Democratic line.
