A fundraiser started by Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin to raise money for toys for kids has raised over $5 million following his injury in Monday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The fundraiser originally hoped to raise $2,500 for kids’ toys and had just surpassed that goal prior to Monday night’s game. The other $5 million has come since.
Hamlin remains in critical condition after what was determined to be a cardiac arrest following an otherwise routine tackle just minutes into the game.
The NFL announced earlier today that the game would be rescheduled — but not for this week. The Bills next game is slated for Sunday when they play the New England Patriots.
