Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has reported that three fatalities in Erie County over the past three days can be attributed to the blizzard.

While there have been reports of other deaths, Poloncarz says that they are simply “rumors” for now.

The Blizzard of ’77, which lasted for five days, resulted in 23 deaths in Western New York and Southern Ontario.

There have not been any blizzard-attributable deaths confirmed outside of Erie County.
