Niagara County Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner Garret Meal today announced that a section of Porter Center Road in the Town of Lewiston will be closed to all motorists, except local traffic, beginning August 8.  Electronic message boards are already in place warning motorists of the pending closure.

The closure of Porter Center Road is for a culvert replacement north of Swan Road and south of Langdon Road. The road closure is expected to last two to three weeks, with full project completion slated for early October.

“We recognize road closures are inconvenient, but these projects are important to keeping the county’s culvert inventory functioning hydraulically and ensuring they are structurally safe for the travelling public,” said Meal.  “We appreciate the public’s patience as we complete these projects.”
