LOCKPORT — A 38-year-old Lockport man has been charged overnight with the fatal hit-and-run that occurred Saturday evening on Dysinger Road.

Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti announced the arrest of 38-year old, Nathan Marziale of Lockport following an investigation. According to NCSO, at 6:34 p.m. Saturday, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting a Motor Vehicle accident involving a 28-year old male pedestrian being struck in front of 6694 Dysinger Road. The vehicle left the scene of the accident and the injured male was later located in the area of Bowmiller Road and Akron Road. He was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital Lockport, where he succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau and the Accident Investigation Team led to the discovery of the 2018 BMW X5 that was involved in the accident. The driver of the vehicle, Nathan Marziale, was charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident (D Felony). He was transported to the Niagara County Jail, where he is held pending arraignment in CAP court.
