On February 12, 2022 at approximately 10:38 A.M., Troopers attempted to stop an erratic operator on the I-90.
The preliminary investigation determined the suspect driver continued to drive erratically and exited on I-190 northbound.
The suspect then exited into the city of Buffalo and the pursuit was terminated.
While patrolling the city of Buffalo, Troopers located the suspect, pulled over and talking to bystanders on East Eagle Street near Washington Street.
The preliminary investigation determined Troopers approached the vehicle, gave verbal commands and at one point during the interaction with the suspect, a Trooper discharged their Division issued firearm at the suspect.
The suspect died at the scene.
The Trooper has minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
The area of Washington and Eagle Street will be closed for multiple hours
