The Buffalo Niagara Coalition for Open Government is sponsoring a forum titled “Your Right to Know: The News Media & the Freedom of Information Law”. The forum will feature several local news reporters, see attached flyer.
The event will be held on Wednesday September 25th, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Theodore Roosevelt Museum, 641 Delaware Ave. in Buffalo. We will highlight some of the great accomplishments by the Coalition for Open Government and recognize some individuals for their open government efforts.
Understanding the Freedom of Information Law is important for political science, journalism, law students, activists, educators and concerned citizens in general. If you have class on Wednesday evenings you could have your whole class attend or require this as an assignment for students to attend and write about something they learned.
