ALLEGANY — An 18-year-old Allegany man was charged Friday with third-degree burglary following an investigation by New York State Police.

According to NYSP, Troopers investigating a burglary in progress at a vacant residence on East Union Street in the village of Allegany determined William C. Carmona had unlawfully entered the property and was selling items from within at a yard sale.

Carmona was arrested and arraigned in Allegany Town Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond. He is due to appear in Allegany Village Court at a later date.
