CLARENCE — Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today announced $702,884 in federal funding for the Livingston Wyoming Chapter New York State Area Rehab Center. The grant was awarded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Head Start Projects Program which promotes school readiness of children under five from low-income families.
The Head Start program supports children in growth and development through a variety of services depending on the needs of the local community. Their programs are based in centers and schools, but also in child care centers and family care homes. Children gain the access to early learning for school readiness, healthcare needs, and family well-being.
“Congratulations go out to the Livingston Wyoming Chapter New York State Area Rehab Center for receiving this competitive grant and continuing to provide children and teens with critical programs,” said Congressman Collins. “I also want to thank the Department of Health and Human Services for investing back into Western New York and allowing our children to have the learning tools they need to grow and become successful.”
The Congressman’s office remains available to assist any local government pursuing a federal grant.
