PRESS RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Low or No Emission Program has allocated $2,500,000 to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority. This grant provides funding to state and local governmental authorities for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses.

Additionally, this grant will include funding for acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities such as recharging, refueling, and maintenance facilities.

“This grant will provide important funding to support the transition to lower polluting transit vehicles for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority,” said Congressman Collins. “Investing in advanced technologies for transit will ensures a decrease of air pollutants being released into our atmosphere.”

The Congressman’s office remains available to assist any local government pursuing a federal grant.
