ALMOND — A 76-year-old Almond man was charged Sunday with DWI ,resisting arrest and harassment following a complaint.

According to New York State Police, Troopers determined Clifton B. Cornell had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Cornell was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.

Cornell was arraigned in Almond Town Court, where he was remanded to Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to reappear in that court in July.
