ALMOND — A 27-year-old Scio man was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident on Saturday by New York State Police.

According to NYSP, during their investigation of a one-car accident on County Road 11, James G. Hardy, the driver, who was found walking along County Road 11, was exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication. Troopers determined he had been operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He failed standardized field sobriety tests. Hardy was then arrested and transported to SP Amity, where a chemical breath test revealed him to have a 0.09% BAC.

Hardy was issued appearance tickets for Almond Town Court, where he is due to appear in July.
