This week’s featured event is Nuspeak EP Release Show on Friday. nuspeak is the brainchild of aspiring musician John Galbo, who has spent fifteen years cultivating his sound through many bands and phases of work. nuspeak is the culmination of those years combined with the inspiration of modern life, love, loss, and a deranged world. He sincerely hopes you enjoy hearing the music as much as he enjoyed creating it. John is beyond excited to announce the release of nuspeak’s debut ep, entitled “the beginning ep”! To celebrate the release, he invited some of his favorite local/regional musicians to perform at Sugar City, while nuspeak will be performing the entire ep cover-to-cover! Amazing local talent Shannon Vanderlaan will be performing, as well as the gorgeous ethereal experimental act from syracuse, Machine Moon! Shannon Vanderlaan is a singer/songwriter from the Western New York area. A 2015 Music Industry graduate from The College of Saint Rose, she develops passionate, piano-driven pop sounds. Her music is thoughtful and emotional, drawing influences from today’s vocal-greats like Adele, Sia, and Sara Bareilles. Shannon’s formal music education and passion for contemporary music comes together to create music that surpasses generational barriers. Machine Moon is self-described as a harsh wave of emotional output via manipulated tape and heavy electronics from Syracuse, NY. Stop out at Buffalo, NY’s amazing Non-Profit Art & Performance space Sugar City for an eclectic evening of music this Friday, March 1st! Located downtown at 1239 Niagara Street, right across from Resugence Brewery. Doors open at 7:00pm, and its only a $5 cover to attend. This event is also open to All Ages!
