PRESS RELEASE
On February 2, 2019 at 1:37 P.M., Troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Oak Orchard Road in the town of Elba.
Further investigation revealed that a 2008 Suzuki was traveling north on Oak Orchard Road and lost control on the snow covered roadway and slide sideways into the path of a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck. The Chevrolet struck the passenger side of the Suzuki.
The operator of the Chevrolet, Jeffrey S. Toussaint, 59 of Albion, NY was transported to Erie County Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The operator of the Suzuki, Teresa M. Norton, 53 and the passenger Thomas M. Norton, 22 both of Albion, NY were both declared deceased at the collision scene by the Genesee County Coroner, Karen Lang.
New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, Elba Fire Company and NYS DOT assisted in this investigation.
