CLARENCE — A 26-year-old Clarence woman is facing DWI charges following a traffic stop on Roll Road. 


According to New York State Police, on Tuesday, Troopers monitored a report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office that a woman may be driving under the influence with a child in the vehicle. A Clarence Trooper observed the vehicle in question failing to stay in its lane on Roll Road. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Kayla Rinaldi, 26 of Clarence, failed field sobriety tests. Rinaldi was arrested and processed at State Police Clarence where an Erie County Sheriff drug recognition expert conducted an evaluation.  Rinaldi was charged with aggravated DWI with a child, commonly known as Leandra’s Law, a Felony and driving with ability impaired by drugs a misdemeanor. Additionally, she was issued traffic tickets and released with a return court date in Clarence.  The child was turned over to Rinaldi’s mother and was not harmed.
