PRESS RELEASE


On Friday, October 26th, State Police in Albion conducted a detail focusing on the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors by local convenience stores throughout Orleans County.  A total of eight retail stores were checked and four were found to be in compliance and properly checked for identification upon sale.

Troopers observed cashiers at four area stores selling beer to an underage individual without properly checking for identification to check if the person purchasing the beer was 21 years old.  The detail resulted in the arrest of the cashiers failing to properly check for identification being charged with a violation of section 65-A of the New York State Alcoholic Beverage Control Law.
