The featured show of this week is the Surrender The Hope 10 Year Reunion show on Saturday. SURRENDER THE HOPE is a seething hardcore act hailing from Buffalo, NY. Exploding with a live show that rivals even some of today’s top selling bands (videos still available on myspace.com and youtube.com), this 5 piece has solidified a heavy local and regional base by converting spectators into fans. Their raucous, sometimes filthy bar-room brawl style has helped them garner great reviews and genuine respect in a talent filled buffalo hardcore scene. While critics and fans alike have a hard time comparing them to other bands in the genre, no one will deny this band has created its own standard. Straying from the usual and now cliché hardcore shortcuts, this is a group that musically and lyrically continues to push the envelope. Playing the north-east with such acts as the Human Abstract, the Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza, It Dies Today, the Number Twelve Looks Like You, Despised Icon and many more helped season this band in a relatively short period of time. Capable and ready to spread the disease, SURRENDER THE HOPE is a band whose name begs to be etched onto the notebooks of high school misfits and into the minds of their concerned parents.
