BUFFALO HEALTHY LIVING

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Neighborhood Health Center, a nonprofit organization and Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides medical, dental and behavioral health services in Western New York, has recently opened its new Southtowns Women’s Group office to a larger facility at 151 Elmview Avenue, Hamburg, NY 14075 (the former Lifetime Health Medical Group’s Hamburg location).

Formerly known as Neighborhood Health Center Southtowns Women’s Group, the relocation to the nearly 12,000 square foot Health Center at Elmview increases the office footprint and now offers Behavioral Health and Nutritional services in addition to its OB-GYN and Family Planning practice.

“The decision to expand our presence in the Southtowns is in response to the overwhelming health needs in our community and is the next logical step in our growth strategy,” said Joanne Haefner, Chief Executive Officer for Neighborhood Health Center. “Our comprehensive, patient-focused and community-based care is a central component to an investment in our healthcare system that delivers both increased access to care and wellness for both our patients and communities.”

In addition to the new larger Southtowns office in Hamburg, Neighborhood Health Center’s expanded presence in Buffalo’s southern suburban community of Blasdell (which opened in 2017) includes a 38,000 square foot medical facility that offers all primary care and integrated care services – including dental, behavioral health, nutrition, pharmacy and podiatry services.

All Neighborhood Health Center offices feature integrated primary care services for patients. Included in its suite of OB-GYN care, pregnant women have access to the most comprehensive services and support available from routine prenatal care, high-risk pregnancy care and social supports, to medication-assisted treatment with suboxone (for pregnant patients in need of opioid use treatment) as well as access to all the other services offered at Neighborhood Health Center.

Neighborhood Health Center, the dba for Northwest Buffalo Community Health Care Center, has had a presence in the region’s primary care scene for more than 30 years and has grown to become the oldest and largest FQHC in Western New York, providing high-quality, cost-effective primary care to all community members, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. With more than 60 medical, dental and social work providers, Neighborhood Health Center is projected to provide more than 90,000 visits to more 25,000 unique patients this year.

The new Southtowns office is one of four offices in the organization’s network of Health Centers which also include: Neighborhood Health Center – Blasdell (4233 Lake Avenue, Blasdell, NY 14219); Neighborhood Health Center – Mattina (300 Niagara Street, Buffalo, NY 14201); and Neighborhood Health Center – Northwest (155 Lawn Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14207).
