BUFFALO, N.Y. — On Wednesday, Lyft – the fastest growing on-demand transportation service in the United States – was formally named the Official Rideshare Partner of Canisius Athletics. As part of the partnership, a designated pick-up and drop-off zone will be installed on campus.
Available to all Lyft riders, the branded areas will help alleviate traffic congestion and help to address parking concerns for fans traveling to and from Golden Griffin athletic events.
“We are proud to offer Golden Griffin fans this new addition as part of their gameday experience,” said Matt Rodrigues, Lyft Greater New York State Market Manager. “As fall sports kick off, we look forward to extending the designated pick-up and drop-off locations to help ease gameday parking concerns.”
“We are always looking for new ways to provide our fan base with great customer service, and we believe this partnership with Lyft certainly accomplishes that effort,” Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher said. “Joining with Lyft allows us to provide our fans, alumni and students with a safe, designated drop-off and pick-up location centrally-located outside our two main on-campus athletic venues. This is a great way for people to have the opportunity to come to an event on our campus, cheer on their Griffs, and then return safely to their destination.”
To use Lyft, Canisius fans can download the Lyft APP to their mobile devices. New users can also use the code GOGRIFFS to receive $20 in free Lyft credit to new users.
