Second Varsity Eight at 20189 MAAC Rowing
WELLAND, ONTARIO — The Canisius rowing team took to the water Saturday at the Head of the Welland – Five Bridges Fall Classic in Welland, Ontario. Both varsity four boats participated in the same race (Women’s Open 4+), placing first and second overall ahead of third-place Argonaut.
 
The “B” varsity four took first place with a time of 20:57.666, 10 seconds ahead of the Golden Griffins A varsity boat. The “B” varsity four was crewed by coxswain Emma Sabio and rowers Max McGuire, Emma Vicaretti,Bridget Lillis and Allyson Matrassi.
 
The “A” varsity boat included coxswain Misa Gamble, along with rowers Sydney BichselShannon Pritzker,Alexandra Heinz and Anezka KrobotThe vessel crossed the line in 21:08.413, 51 seconds ahead of Argonaut.
