BUFFALO, N.Y. — Canisius women’s basketball head coach Scott Hemer will be one of five inducted into the Genesee Community College Athletics Hall of Fame this Saturday, Sept. 22.
Hemer was GCC’s women’s basketball coach from 2001-2007. While at the helm for the Cougars, he was National Junior College Athletic Association National District C Coach of the Year, the NJCAA Region III Coach of the Year three times while coaching five All-Americans.
“I am truly humbled by this honor and very appreciative of Genesee Community College for this opportunity,” said Hemer. “Throughout my coaching career, I have never been focused on individual recognition, but it is certainly exceptional to have a place where I have such fond memories, honor me in this way. My family and I are extremely excited about the ceremony this weekend.”
