Mona Abdulla, a member of the Lackawanna School Board and the daughter of immigrant parents from Yemen, will speak at 9 a.m. Sept. 22 about the effects of the Arab Spring on Yemen and about its civil war. A light breakfast is offered for $5. Call 632-1330 to RSVP.

At 9 a.m. Oct. 13, also at North Presbyterian Church, Mary Jane Shonn will share photos of her experience walking a section of the Way of St. James, which ends at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northeast Spain.

And at 9 a.m. Nov. 10, panelists will discuss and take questions on solitary confinement. This event takes place in Clarence Presbyterian Church, 9675 Main St.
