A 22-year-old Salamanca woman was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana on August 23, 2018 following a routine traffic stop.

According to New York State Troopers, Justice Dowdy was pulled over for committing a traffic violation on Pigeon Valley Road in Little Valley and while speaking to Dowdy, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. A search of  Dowdy and her vehicle revealed a bottle containing marijuana, a smoking device containing marijuana residue and a suboxone strip, for which Dowdy didn’t have a prescription. Dowdy was placed under arrest, transported to SP Jamestown and processed.

Dowdy was issued an appearance ticket and a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Napoli Court next month.
