Matt MazurekBUFFALO, N.Y. — The 2018 MAAC Champion Canisius College baseball team has announced that their annual Fall Instructional Showcase camp will take place on Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Demske Sports Complex. The event is scheduled to run from 9 am to 5 pm. The cost is $125 for each participant.
 
The Showcase involves instruction on all aspects of the game including hitting, pitching, fielding, base running and speed development. Players will have the opportunity to take infield/outfield from their positions and then take batting practice leading into live games.
 
There will be opportunities to interact with the Canisius staff and current players to ask them questions about college baseball while being showcased in front of the whole staff and staffs from other invited Division I, II, III and community colleges that have attended in the past.
 
The tentative schedule for the day is as follows:
 
8:30 am – Sign In/Registration
9:00 am – Introduction
9:20 am – Dynamic Warm Up
9:45 am – Instruction
10:15 am – Batting Practice/60-Yard Dash
11:15 am – Defensive Workout
12:30 pm – Game 1
                   Game 2 (to follow)
 
Over the nine-year existence of the showcase, 25 players who have attended have gone on to commit to the three-time MAAC Champion Golden Griffin baseball program.
