ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Fernando Romero tossed eight dominant innings as the Red Wings salvaged the series final in Pawtucket with a 6-3 victory Sunday afternoon. 
Rochester – using the Opener strategy – started reliever Alan Busenitz who allowed a three-run homer to Josh Ockimey in the first inning.
Romero (4-3) entered in the second inning and went the rest of the way allowing just four hits and no walks, while striking out eight.
The offense caught up in the third as Tyler Austin keyed a three-run inning with a two-run double to left.
The game remained tied until the ninth inning when the Wings struck again. Gregorio Petit ripped a one-out bases loaded single that scored Johnny FieldNick Gordon followed with a single of his own that brought home Jeremy Hazelbaker and Juan Graterol that gave Rochester the 6-3 lead.
Austin picked up two doubles and two RBI. Petit was the only other Red Wing with two hits on the day.
After a day off Monday, the Wings open a six-game homestand on Tuesday night at Frontier Field at 7:05 against the Toledo Mud Hens.
