BUFFALO, N.Y. — VA Western New York Healthcare System is celebrating the renovation of inpatient unit 9D on Wednesday, August 1 at 10am at 3495 Bailey Avenue in Buffalo with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The renovation project completely updated 10,932 square feet for inpatient care totaling $3.9 million. The twenty bed unit features sixteen private rooms and two double rooms. Included in the project is the updating of all utility systems to support state of the art health care, increased patient comfort and energy efficiency. New heating, ventilation, air conditioning, lighting, nurse call system, medical gas and vacuum, electrical plumbing as well as telemetry and elopement prevention systems make up the renovation details.

Swartz, Executive Director, VA Western New York Healthcare System. “Having this bright, new unit for staff and patients to be in, allows them to have the latest equipment and environment for an optimal setting for healing.”
