LOUISVILLE, K.Y. — The Bisons scored early with a couple of runs in the first two innings but six unanswered runs by the Bats was too much for the Herd to overcome in a 6-2 loss Wednesday night in Louisville.
After the Bisons were ahead by two, the Bats tied up the game with a run in each of the third and fourth innings. D.J. Peterson tied the game on a solo home run to lead off the fourth.
Peterson gave Buffalo more trouble in the fifth when he hit his second longball of the game–a three-run home run to open up a four-run lead.
Conor Fisk and Claudio Custodio each provided solid relief outings. They worked back-to-back clean innings and retired the side in order during the sixth and seventh innings.
Dalton Pompey reached base in three of his four at-bats. He doubled to lead off the game in the first and drew two walks.
Anthony Alford and Rowdy Tellez both had multi-hit games. Alford belted a solo blast in the second and singled in the sixth and in the ninth. Tellez had a pair of singles, one in the fourth and one in the sixth, to go along with a stolen base.
