STAFF REPORTS

ALBANY, N.Y. — Civil Service Employees Association President Danny Donohue responded to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s signing an executive order regarding the personal information of public employees with the following statement:

“We applaud Governor Cuomo’s executive order that preserves the personal privacy and safety of public employees by ensuring that their personal information is not handed over to any unauthorized individual or organization that asks for it.

The governor is again showing his commitment to protecting working people in New York by putting this important protection in place.

Every day, public employees go above and beyond the call of duty to provide vital services for the people of New York. Sometimes, this even puts our members at risk for violence and harassment. The governor’s executive will help protect the public employees who do so much for New Yorkers.
While this executive order still allow names, titles and salaries to be available by FOIL, this order allows working people to have privacy while allowing the public to have transparency. Thank you to the governor for leading the way in protecting the working people who keep our state strong every day.”
