AMHERST TIMES
The Jolly Boys are a kind of secret clan in Amherst who raise money for charities, scholarships and other needy causes. I find their failure to publicly show their budget for last and current years bothersome. Where did the money that they budget came from? They should show what they did with the money made from the events they sponsored. There are secrets about this clan as to who really belongs to it and how they handle the money they receive from the public.
Some members of this group are powerful Republicans business people and political figures. Many others don’t want to be known for many reasons. Many have done business with our past Town Board members, or they have pressured Town Board members to vote for their friends.
If you do want to donate to this group you should know they will not accept anything less than a dollar. If you donate ask them what special groups or persons they have helped.
There is proof the Town of Amherst gives them money, to do with as they wish, year after year for Old Home Days. The Village also helps them in many ways, also saving them money.
