PRESS RELEASE
On June 10, 2018 at 9:49 a.m., during the admission of the Thunder of Niagara Airshow, random vehicle inspections were being done at the Tuscarora Gate at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. During this process a vehicle was inspected. Further investigation revealed that the 18 year-old operator was in possession of a handgun. The suspect was transported by Troopers to SP Niagara for further investigation.
This is an ongoing criminal investigation. No further information will be given out at this time. This incident does not pose a threat at the Thunder of Niagara Airshow.
