UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Former University at Buffalo offensive lineman David Goldsby has signed a free agent contract with the Ottawa RedBlacks of the Canadian Football League.

After transferring from Ellsworth Community College, Goldsby played the 2016 and 2017 seasons with the Bulls. The St. Louis native who graduated in May with a degree in psychology, started 20 games over his career at UB. He was a versatile offensive lineman who played both the guard and tackle positions.
UB football players have had a history with the Ottawa organization. Former wide receiver Ernest Jackson had back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons for the RedBlacks and caught the game-winning touchdown in the 2016 Grey Cup. Former offensive lineman Jake Silas played for the RedBlacks from 2015-17 and was also on Ottawa’s 2016 Grey Cup champion team.
There are currently six former UB football players on CFL rosters. Jackson and Drew Willy play for Montreal, Naaman Roosevelt plays for Saskatchewan, Dylan Guy plays for Calgary and Natey Adjei plays for Edmonton.
