CORTLAND, N.Y. — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced its women’s lacrosse all-conference teams today, recognizing Buffalo State’s Jackie Dufresne (Lake View/Frontier) on the second team and Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) on the third team.
Dufresne, a junior applied mathematics major, improved on her third team honors from a season ago to be voted second team this season. The midfielder started all 18 games and led the SUNYAC with 88 draw controls. She also finished with 30 goals and 11 assists for 41 points to go with 28 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers.
Schaefer, a senior early childhood education major, was a first-time All-SUNAC honoree on the third team in her second season with the Bengals. The attack finished the season with 37 goals and 14 assists for 51 points in 17 games played. She led the Bengals with 19 goals and 25 points in league play, which ranked ninth in the SUNYAC.
Buffalo State finished 7-11 overall and qualified for the SUNYAC playoffs for the second-consecutive season.
