This week’s featured show is Emo Night – Buffalo (SayWeCanFly edition) on Thursday.

One of the best things about going to a concert is meeting and being in a crowd with others who love the same music you do. Emo Night – Buffalo is a throw back party featuring music from the early 2000s and beyond. Started late last year with its debut event at Mohawk Place to a packed house. The next show had a line around the block waiting to get in, sometimes for over an hour to join the party. This local movement is now moving to Buffalo Iron Works for its next edition this Thursday, May 3rd featuring Braden Barrie/SayWeCanFly.

The night starts off with Buffalo’s own Alexis Valentine (of Revival Recordings) on the DJ decks. All your favorite throwback music from the Emo/Myspace years will fill the air to set the vibe. Building up to the house band – Cut Me Up Genny (feat members from So Last Year and Fortunato) – performing live on stage while the crowd screams along! After rocking along to the band, SayWeCanFly/Braden Barrie will step into the limelight to perform some of his hits and new songs for the crowd!

Braden Barrie is a singer / songwriter from Ontario, Canada. He started making music in his bedroom under the name SayWeCanFly in 2009. He has released a total of seven studio albums including his first full length “Between The Roses” which sold over 10,000 copies and hit the Billboard charts. In both 2015 & 2016 Braden was given a spot on the entire Vans Warped Tour; the largest touring festival in North America. After a brief stint on Epitaph Records, Braden is currently working to release his next two full length albums independently through his own record label, Purewolf Records.

This is all followed by the Live Band Karaoke section, where audience members who have chosen to sign up are able to take the role of lead singer with the house band! Cut Me Up Genny backs your best friend, serenading the crowd with your favorite song! Break out the black eyeliner, the poofy scene haircut, the finger-less gloves, and maybe re-visit your local hot topic for some new accessories. Embrace your inner emo kid, and support this local movement by telling your friends. Because it was never just a phase, mom! Doors open at 7:00pm, and the event is open to anyone Ages 16 or older for just $10!
