TAMPA, Fla. — Former University at Buffalo defensive end Demone Harris has signed a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Harris came to Buffalo as a walk-on, built himself into an All-MAC player and will now get his shot in the NFL. 

Harris is coming off the best season of his career. He led the Bulls in both sacks (5) and tackles for loss (9.5) to go along with 55 tackles and two forced fumbles. Harris was an All-MAC Second Team selection following the 2017 season.

A Buffalo native, Harris finished his career with 108 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss.
UB football has had a history with the Buccaneers. Steven Means was Tampa Bay’s fifth-round draft choice in 2013 and played two seasons with the Buccaneers. Jacob Schum was the Buc’s starting punter for the 2015 season. Defensive end Trevor Scott played the 2013 season with Tampa Bay.
