NIAGARA UNIV. — The Niagara baseball team hosts St. Bonaventure for a doubleheader starting at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10.

  • The Purple Eagles hosted Iona for opening weekend April 7-8. The Purple Eagles fell to the Gaels 10-2 in game one before picking up a 3-2 walk-off win in the second game. NU defeated Iona 9-6 in the third game to win the season series with the Gaels.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles
  • Greg Cullen leads the Purple Eagles, the MAAC and the NCAA with a .489 batting average and 1.95 hits per game. He has a team-high 43 hits and three homeruns and has also recorded 15 RBIs.

  • Mike Magnanti leads the Bonnies in hits with 27 and in runs scored with 14. He has a team-best batting average of .346.
  • Brandon Henshaw leads the team in RBIs with 15 RBIs.
  • On the mound, Braydon Nelson (1-1) leads the Bonnie pitching staff in strikeouts with 32 in 36.2 innings pitched. He has an ERA of 3.44.
