BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo State’s Nina Schaefer (Lafayette/Lafayette) and Elyse Stark (Lido Beach/Long Beach) were named the SUNYAC Women’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week respectively  after leading the Bengals to a 2-1 week including a 2-0 SUNYAC start. 
 
Schaefer, senior early childhood education major, tallied 18 points in three games.  She had six goals and two assists in a 23-9 victory over Fredonia on Tuesday, added four goals and an assist in a loss to nationally-ranked St. John Fisher on Thursday, and then netted three goals to go with two assists in a 10-4 victory over Potsdam on Saturday.
 
Stark, a senior hospitality administration major, posted a .500 save percentage and a 9.67 goals against average in the three-game stretch.  She made eight saves in the victory over Fredonia, 12 stops in the loss to St. John Fisher, and made nine saves while allowing just four goals in the win over Potsdam.
 
Buffalo State will next host Geneseo on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
