STAFF REPORTS

BUFFALO — Explore Buffalo will offer tours of  Lafayette Square each Thursday from May 24 through July 12 at noon.

The one-hour walking tour will focus on the Soldiers and Sailors Monument and the surrounding buildings, which the group calls “representative of different eras of Buffalo history in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.” The buildings include the Hotel Lafayette, Rand Building, Brisbane Building, and Liberty Building.

This tour meets at the Western New York Book Arts Center at 468 Washington St., at the corner of Washington and Mohawk Streets. Two-hour metered parking is available on surrounding streets, and the Mohawk Parking Ramp is on the opposite corner. The Lafayette Square Station of the Metro Rail is around the corner on Main Street.

The tour is $10 general admission, $5 for students and free for Explorer Pass holders.
