• Senior Jen Reininger tallied the go-ahead goal with 3:31 remaining in the second overtime period to lift the Canisius women’s lacrosse program over Iona, 10-9 in New Rochelle, N.Y.
• With the win the Golden Griffins improved to 5-5 overall and 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play, while Iona dropped to 5-6 and 0-2 in conference action.
• The Griffs used a four-goal run beginning at the 13:00 minute mark in the second half to help erase the Iona lead and force the extra time.
• Junior Jourdan Roemer got the run started tallying her 24th of the season on a free position, before sophomoreBryar Cummings and Reininger followed suit to cut the Iona lead to one.

• Canisius has been led offensively by Jourdan Roemer, who comes into the contest with 40 points (25 goals and 15 assists).
• Not far behind is the team’s leading goal scorer, Jen Reininger, who has 34 points with 29 goals and five assists.
• The Blue and Gold have also received goal scoring from Allie Stewart (12 goals), Lauren Smolenksy (four goals and eight assists) and Bryar Cummings (eight goals and one assist)
• Marissa Malvaso and Miranda Malvaso have continued to get stronger with each game, as the freshmen have been strong complimentary pieces in their first year.
• Marissa Malvaso has tallied seven goals and two assists, while Miranda Malvaso has tallied three goals.

• The team is averaging 10 goals a game but the defense is allowing opponents to average 14 goals-against through its 10 contests
• Alexis Deaken has been a revelation for the Saints, ranking second in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with 41 points, including 34 goals. She leads the team in both categories.
• Deaken is also ranked first in the conference in points per game, averaging 4.1 points per match-up so far in 2018.
• Kerry Gerrety has also posted over 20 points for Siena, coming into the game with 20 goals and eight assists.
