CANISIUS COLLEGE ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Canisius athletic department is proud to be a part of the Canisius Giving Day, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25th. Giving Day is a 24-hour, online and telephone giving campaign to increase philanthropy among the entire Canisius community – alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff and students.

The goal of Giving Day is to inspire Griffs to come together, show pride in their alma mater and provide essential funding to support students and shape the College. This collaborative, inclusive event will shine a spotlight on giving at Canisius and create a new sense of energy around philanthropy. Together, WE CAN make Canisius the best experience possible for students.

“Canisius Giving Day has proven to be tremendous vehicle to allow the alumni, family and friends to support Golden Griffin Athletics through the Blue & Gold Fund,” said Canisius Director of Athletics Bill Maher. “This single-day effort has set records in each of the last two years and each of our teams have set ambitious goals for 2018 – with your support I know we can make 2018 even stronger so please help us make the championship difference on April 25th.”

A number of colleges and universities have hosted giving days over the last few years and those institutions proudly claim tremendous results. With so many loyal and caring alumni and friends of Canisius, the College is looking to reach new donors and alumni.

Those interested in making a donation to the Canisius athletic department on Giving Day can do so by supporting the Blue & Gold Fund, the official fundraising effort for Canisius’ 18 varsity programs. One hundred percent of all donations for the Blue & Gold Fund enhance the student-athlete experience through athletic scholarships, recruitment, improvements to facilities and investments in our coaching staffs.

Canisius also asks its donors to help spread the word about Giving Day by sharing information about the event through their personal social media outlets. By telling your friends, family and followers that you took part in #CanisiusGivingDay, you can help double, or even triple, your impact.
